SATUAN BRAVO 90

The Bravo Detachment 90, also known as Satuan Bravo-90, is the Indonesian Air Force's counter-terrorism special operations unit, operating under Kopasgat—the Air Force's elite rapid reaction force—since 1990 with its headquarters at Rumpin Air Force Base in West Java. Composed of top-performing Kopasgat graduates (about 5–10 selected annually), the unit specializes in aircraft hijack rescues, intelligence missions, and neutralizing enemy air capabilities using strategies inspired by Giulio Douhet. Bravo 90 operators undergo rigorous training across elite units—including Kopassus, Denjaka, Kopaska, Gegana, and even the British SAS—for skills like airborne assault, underwater demolition, combat diving, and HALO/HAHO parachuting. The unit has also played prominent roles in international evacuations, deploying to Afghanistan in 2021 and Ukraine in 2022 to assist in rescuing Indonesian citizens.
