STADIUM JAKARTA

(RAAP—001)

Stadium Nightclub was a prominent venue located in Jakarta, Indonesia, known for its extensive operating hours and castle-like facade featuring a statue of a knight. The club, which opened on Friday nights and operated continuously until Monday mornings, was structured with three separate levels, each housing a disco with a DJ playing techno music. The facility also included luxurious rooms available for rent by the day or hour, and a ground floor restaurant that operated 24/7, equipped with big-screen televisions, cozy seating areas, and couches.

The nightclub gained notoriety for its drinking habits, with water being the most popular beverage among patrons due to prevalent religious practices that discourage alcohol consumption. Instead, the club’s clientele frequently used designer drugs such as ecstasy. The introduction of ecstasy into Indonesia’s club scene led to the transformation of Stadium into a significant hub for drug use, despite the club’s management not directly engaging in drug transactions. This association with illegal substances resulted in regular police raids on the establishment.

Despite its controversial reputation, Stadium Nightclub remained an integral part of Jakarta's entertainment landscape, leaving an indelible mark on the city's nightlife history.
